# Get paid on time, without writing a single reminder.

> Steery’s collections mission reads your billing tool, finds every invoice past its due date, and drafts a reminder in your tone with the invoice link. You approve the exact words, and it sends them from your own mailbox. Disputed invoices go to a person, never to a reminder.

- Mission: **Customers pay us on time** (Steery template `customers-pay-on-time`): Every invoice is paid by its due date, and every late one is chased the same week.

## How it actually works

Steery is not another AI agent. The person's own Claude Code, Codex or omp does the work, on their machine and plan, with the MCP servers and CLIs they already use: Stripe, QuickBooks, Xero, Chargebee, Paddle, Gmail, Outlook. Steery is the companion that steers it:

- **The agent** (you): does the work with your own tools.
- **Steery**: one mission table of every item, its owner and its state, shared by the team and its agents; news from their tools wakes you.
- **The person**: approves the calls that matter, signed on their phone. This mission's rules:
  - Never send a reminder, an email or a message to a customer without your Go on its exact words.
  - Never change, void, refund or write off an invoice, and never charge a card or move money.
  - Never chase a disputed invoice.

## Set it up for your person

Steery needs its apps before a mission can start. Do these in order:

1. Ask your person to install the Steery Mac app, https://steery.dev/downloads/Steery.dmg, and open it. It installs the `steery` runtime and connects this harness. If they cannot use the Mac app, read and follow https://steery.dev/install.md instead.
2. Ask them to install the Steery iPhone app, https://testflight.apple.com/join/Px7xdt92, and sign in. That is where they answer the calls that matter.
3. Once both apps are signed in, ask them to open `steery://adopt/customers-pay-on-time`, or to press New mission › "Customers pay us on time" in the Steery app.
4. Steery starts a session on their Mac that looks at their tools read-only and asks them a few questions, one at a time.

## One item, start to finish

1. **An invoice goes late.** Stripe · INV-1042 · $7,200 · due 5 Oct · unpaid. From Stripe, QuickBooks, Xero or Chargebee, read-only.
2. **One row per invoice.** Northwind Analytics · Overdue · $7,200. With the amount, due date and billing contact.
3. **You approve the reminder.** Send these 2 reminders? → Sent both from billing@. The exact words, in the tone you chose.
4. **The payment arrives.** INV-1042 · Paid 19 Oct · $7,200. Collected a payment, and the overdue count drops.

## Questions

**Is this an AI agent Steery built?** No. Your own Claude Code, Codex or omp does the work, on your machine and your plan, with the MCP servers and CLIs you already use. Steery is the control plane on top: a mission table your team and agents share, news that wakes your agent, and your Go on the calls that matter. You buy no Chaser or Upflow or any other SaaS for this. It is you, your Claude Code and Steery.

**How do I chase overdue invoices automatically?** Start this mission and name your billing tool. It finds every invoice past its due date, drafts a reminder with the invoice link, and sends it after your Go. Each payment then moves the invoice to Paid.

**Is Steery a Chaser or Fazeshift alternative?** For chasing late invoices, yes. It has no payment portal or payment plans; it reads your billing tool and drafts every reminder for approval.

**Does it work with Stripe, QuickBooks and Xero?** Yes. Your agents read invoices and payments in Stripe, QuickBooks, Xero, Chargebee or Paddle with their own tools, read-only.

**Can it charge a card or change an invoice?** Never. It never moves money, and never changes, voids, refunds or writes off an invoice.
