# A CRM that matches what customers said.

> Steery’s CRM mission compares each open deal with what customers last said in email, calls and meetings. It finds deals that are out of date and proposes the exact changes to each deal’s owner. It writes to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Attio only after that owner’s Go.

- Mission: **Our CRM tells the truth** (Steery template `crm-tells-the-truth`): Every open deal shows its real stage, next step and owner, from what customers last said.

## How it actually works

Steery is not another AI agent. The person's own Claude Code, Codex or omp does the work, on their machine and plan, with the MCP servers and CLIs they already use: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Attio, Gmail, Google Calendar, call notes, Slack. Steery is the companion that steers it:

- **The agent** (you): does the work with your own tools.
- **Steery**: one mission table of every item, its owner and its state, shared by the team and its agents; news from their tools wakes you.
- **The person**: approves the calls that matter, signed on their phone. This mission's rules:
  - Never write to the CRM without the deal owner’s Go on the exact changes.
  - Never email or message a customer.
  - One row per deal; never two.

## Set it up for your person

Steery needs its apps before a mission can start. Do these in order:

1. Ask your person to install the Steery Mac app, https://steery.dev/downloads/Steery.dmg, and open it. It installs the `steery` runtime and connects this harness. If they cannot use the Mac app, read and follow https://steery.dev/install.md instead.
2. Ask them to install the Steery iPhone app, https://testflight.apple.com/join/Px7xdt92, and sign in. That is where they answer the calls that matter.
3. Once both apps are signed in, ask them to open `steery://adopt/crm-tells-the-truth`, or to press New mission › "Our CRM tells the truth" in the Steery app.
4. Steery starts a session on their Mac that looks at their tools read-only and asks them a few questions, one at a time.

## One item, start to finish

1. **A customer says something.** Dana at Northwind: “Send the order form, we’re ready to sign.”. From sent mail, meetings, call notes or a customer Slack channel.
2. **The CRM is behind.** HubSpot still says Demo, next step blank. One row per deal that needs work.
3. **The deal owner approves.** Update 2 deals in HubSpot? → Kasra: Write both. The exact field changes, with the evidence quoted.
4. **The record is true.** Northwind · Contract sent · next: order form Fri. Updated a deal, and the out-of-date count drops.

## Questions

**Is this an AI agent Steery built?** No. Your own Claude Code, Codex or omp does the work, on your machine and your plan, with the MCP servers and CLIs you already use. Steery is the control plane on top: a mission table your team and agents share, news that wakes your agent, and your Go on the calls that matter. You buy no Day.ai or Attio or any other SaaS for this. It is you, your Claude Code and Steery.

**Can AI update HubSpot automatically?** This mission proposes each HubSpot update from email, calls and meetings, and writes it after the deal owner’s Go. It never changes a record without that Go.

**Which CRMs does it work with?** Any CRM your agents can reach with their own tools: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Attio among them.

**Does it email customers?** Never. It reads what customers said and keeps your records true. Outreach is a separate mission.

**Is it a new CRM?** No. It keeps the CRM you already have accurate. Your team keeps working where it works today.
